Baseball Champs

I have been freelancing for the St. Petersburg Times for the past few days shooting high school baseball championships in Port St. Lucie - here is a slideshow from the last one...it's been a blessing...

Dustin and Arian

Dustin Arquette, 20, met Arien Williams, 19, when he tried to sell her a bathtub in a shopping mall in Sarasota, Fla.
His sales pitch led to a first date, and the couple said that they soon knew that they were meant to be together.
Weeks after the couple began dating they decided to relocate to her hometown of Monroe, Mich. With only a few dollars between them and old car given to Arquette by his parents, they made the journey north.
They arrived in Monroe in early November. A few days later, Arquette’s car broke down and they were almost out of money.
Arquette took some of their remaining money to Walmart, bought a ring, and asked Williams to marry him.
In the span of a week Arquette said that the couple found themselves homeless, jobless, and penniless, but happy to be together.
On Dec. 8 the couple were married in a Salvation Army church just a few blocks away from their shelter. Arien is about three months pregnant and Dustin is still looking for a job.
For the Arquette’s, life is one step at a time. There are still many challenges for them to face, but they said are determined to face them together.
