Memorial Field
I was planning a big road trip to Cali, but, alas, my dreams of rubber tramping will have to wait for another day. BUT, after some prayer and some phone calls, I ended up signing a freelance contract with the Stuart News on Wednesday. Today was my first assignment, pretty easy, mostly fun...
CASTLE executive director Teresa Garbarino-May walks through rows of flags on Friday afternoon in front of Seacoast National Bank on the corner of Federal Highway 1 and Tiffany Ave. in Port St. Lucie. Garbarino-May and others set up the flags in memorial of children who have died in the last year due to abuse.

Old Time Religion
So, I haven't posted in a long while - partly because I don't have access to a computer and partly because I haven't had anything too exciting to post. But, I went to Jacksonville, Fla. two weeks ago with traveling Pentecostal evangelist C.S. Upthegrove and documented a week of revival at a church of more than 2,000 congregants. It was a wild experience for sure and I'm trying to edit it all down into a decent story, so please leave some unflattering, honest comments if you feel so led (since there are no more late-night work print parties in G-ville I need some input via World Wide Web)...I'll post more later...
Upthegrove inspects a woman's mouth with his flashlight to see if gold or silver fillings appeared after an intense prayer session during an evening revival service at the Titus Harvest Dome Spectrum Church in Jacksonville, Fla.
Reaching out to the congregation, Upthegrove blesses the masses and prays to the Holy Spirit for an impartation of his gift into them. The evangelist said that he often sees angels watching over the service when he preaches.
A woman cries out to God as Upthegrove prays over her.
Before preaching a revival, the 80-year-old walks the empty aisles of the church to see God's guidance and blessings in the services to come.
Many congregants sought prayer from the preacher, and a few fell to the floor after being touched by Upthegrove. Some attribute this to an overwhelming experience with the Holy Spirit.
