So, I haven't posted in a long while - partly because I don't have access to a computer and partly because I haven't had anything too exciting to post. But, I went to Jacksonville, Fla. two weeks ago with traveling Pentecostal evangelist C.S. Upthegrove and documented a week of revival at a church of more than 2,000 congregants. It was a wild experience for sure and I'm trying to edit it all down into a decent story, so please leave some unflattering, honest comments if you feel so led (since there are no more late-night work print parties in G-ville I need some input via World Wide Web)...I'll post more later...
Upthegrove inspects a woman's mouth with his flashlight to see if gold or silver fillings appeared after an intense prayer session during an evening revival service at the Titus Harvest Dome Spectrum Church in Jacksonville, Fla.
Reaching out to the congregation, Upthegrove blesses the masses and prays to the Holy Spirit for an impartation of his gift into them. The evangelist said that he often sees angels watching over the service when he preaches.
A woman cries out to God as Upthegrove prays over her.
Before preaching a revival, the 80-year-old walks the empty aisles of the church to see God's guidance and blessings in the services to come.
Many congregants sought prayer from the preacher, and a few fell to the floor after being touched by Upthegrove. Some attribute this to an overwhelming experience with the Holy Spirit.

Tyler told me that you shot this. I want to see more!
The first image is nice, but I think the third is better because of the intensity and simple composition. They are too similar to both include, so I would stick with the third one.
Nice shooting and congrats on the freelance position.
hallelujah! i can't believe you finally updated.
what is this story about exactly? are you documenting just how his religious services go down or are you trying to reach something deeper? it is a pretty impressive scene, of course. i really like three and four as images. five is also muy cool but in a muy subtle kind of way.
yeah five is my fav - i think im going more for something on him, but i need to go to his house and shoot him in his daily environment - i want to mix the overwhelmingness of the services with the day to day of his life and show how he struggles even though he gives people hope to overcome their own (does that make sense?)
I am a member of Titus Harvest Dome and I just want to say that this is all for real!!! Because of my religious background it was hard for me to grab the concept of this being real. Dad C.S. has been to our ministry several times and each time, God's power is revealed. I have several friends that have received pure gold fillings in their mouth that actually have crosses and doves in them. These are people that I've known for years so I know that this was not the work of "a man". I pray that God will reveal himself to every individual in a way that cannot be denied. You did an awesome job photographing Dad C.S. I pray that you will use this opportunity to the glory of God.
